Our Projects
Capitol Hill Charities-- a non-profit division of the Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club, sponsors several Salt Lake area charitable programs including West High School scholarships, the West High Key Club, the BabyCare Cupboard, elementary school book and grade improvement programs.

BabyCare Cupboard-- Our Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club has helped establish BabyCare Cupboards to serve infants and toddlers in Utah and the Intermountain West by supplying infant necessities such as diapers, formula and baby food to low-income families.  We work with the Cross Roads Urban center to accomplish our goals.  We serve children and babies by meeting their basic survival needs and addressing essential issues affecting their quality of life. West High School Key Club--Our club sponsors a Key Club at West High School. Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. What makes Key Club so successful is the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities.

Elementary school-book and grade improvement programs-The Club sponsors the BUG  Awards (Bringing up Grades) at two local grade schools.  The qualifying students enjoy this recognition award.

Annual "Turkey Toss"--At Thanksgiving time the club goes to the Indian Walk-in Center to hand out turkeys to needy individuals.  The turkeys are collected by various other organizations, but we enjoy assisting in their distribution.

Annual Christmas Basket Handouts--Similar to our Thanksgiving turkey handouts, the club assists in handing out Christmas baskets of food to the needy in conjunction with Crossroads Urban Center.

Salvation Army Bell ringers--At Christmas time, our club pitches in to serve a full day ringing the bell at a local location to help collect donations for the needy.

West Side Boys and Girls Club--We help serve dinner at the boys and girls club on 300 North and 500 West two days a week.  It is fun to see the many children served by this great organization.
